C++ is a good choice for a first
programming language: it includes a safe and robust programming environment
that informs programmers about their mistakes. This course teaches fundamental
high level concepts that are useful when programming in any object-oriented
language. This two week course for beginners covers the C++ language and the
basic ideas behind any modern, object-oriented programming language. This
is a hands-on course consisting of 50% lecture and 50% programming exercises.
Many examples of real programs are presented, giving students an understanding
of how to solve genuine programming problems in C++ or any other high level
language.
Beginning programmers with little
or no previous programming experience.
There are no prerequisites. This course teaches the basic principles of programming in a high level language.
